These weeks really do seem to just fly by. It feels like a lot less time but it is already the middle of February, who would think. I keep having my Sundays be busier than I plan them to be and keep pushing things onto Monday, but I guess that is just fine as long as I accommodate it in my schedule. My initial feeling is to make this journal entry shorter than the last, but perhaps that is my laziness kicking in. There has to be some things I can mull over here and get out of my head so I can process them a little better.
I think something I should be doing that I have not yet done is break my larger goals into smaller tasks that I can assign throughout the week. If I don't structure them a little more I doubt I will be able to make any meaningful progress towards any of them. I've been doing a much better job of going to bed at a reasonable time and waking up early, so that is no longer an excuse for wasted time. The next step should be to look at my past 3+ weeks of progress and really assess what worked and what needs more attention. I think a good way of figuring out areas of improvement would be to start logging the time I spend on each thing. This will help me see how my time is spent better and where I can be more efficient and what needs more time to be allocated for. If I leave things too open for myself in my schedule I start to be lazy and not really make significant progress on anything. Deadlines and structure help me be more efficient, a large struggle of this new life plan has been making sure I hold myself accountable for my own time. I think something I should definitely be scheduling into my week is mandatory time set aside just to practice things I am not too great at. Really schedule time to start working on essentials for if I want to land a concept artist job. Learning 3D really needs to be a priority for me and I have been avoiding it because of growing pains. Allocating time to spend studying perspective and environment/material painting needs to be something I focus on in addition to my other personal projects. Getting commissions out of the way needs to happen, that will open up the time for me.
Another thing I would like to improve on is communicating with my professional contacts. The better a relationship I have with them, the more likely I will be able to land a job when my portfolio is ready. Having some sort of mentorship would be fantastic, but I know most artists in the field are really busy. Maybe I can do some research and reach out to them.
I think that is it for this week. I'm going to plan out my schedule for this week now, as that is something I have been slacking with. See you next entry.

Hmm..  Well, I think "Tatau" and "Undying" were the ones that captured my attention.  However, we welcome any images that have an Afro-ethnic-looking character featured.  I really dig your clean line-work, and well-thought costume design.
